Hyperemesis Gravidarum: Managing Symptoms with IV Therapy
Hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) is a severe form of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy that goes beyond typical morning sickness. Women with HG may experience persistent and intense nausea and vomiting making it difficult to keep food or fluids down, possibly leading to dehydration and weight loss. Unlike regular morning sickness, which usually subsides after the first trimester, HG can last much longer and may require medical intervention to manage symptoms.
